Fanbase Africa (Pty) Ltd ("ENKORE", "we", "us", "our") is a South African company (Reg No: 2024/547974/07) operating the ENKORE music platform. We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with applicable South African law, including the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, including:

  • Name and email address
  • Phone number and location
  • Payment and banking details (processed securely via third-party gateways — we never see or store your card details ourselves)
  • Musician profile information, music, and uploaded content
  • Messages and communications with musicians or fans

We also collect usage data automatically (e.g. device type, IP address, page views) to improve the platform.

3. How we use your information

  • To provide, operate, and improve the ENKORE platform
  • To process payments and facilitate transactions
  • To communicate with you about your account or purchases
  • To send marketing communications (only with your consent — see the per-channel opt-ins in your app profile)
  • To comply with legal obligations

4. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:

  • Payment processors (PayFast and Kyshi) to complete transactions
  • Service providers who assist in operating the platform (e.g. hosting, database, email delivery)
  • Law enforcement or regulators where required by law

5. Data retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this policy, or as required by law. You may request deletion of your account and data at any time by contacting us.

You have the right to:

  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to legal obligations)
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. POPIA compliance

Fanbase Africa (Pty) Ltd processes personal information in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

Lawful basis for processing: we process your personal information on the basis of your consent, contractual necessity, and our legitimate business interests.

Information Officer: our designated Information Officer is responsible for ensuring POPIA compliance. Queries may be directed to info@fanbaseafrica.co.za.

Trans-border flows: where personal information is transferred outside South Africa, we ensure adequate protection is in place as required by POPIA.

Data subjects' rights: in terms of POPIA, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information. You also have the right to object to the processing of your personal information on reasonable grounds.

Complaints: if you believe we have processed your information in violation of POPIA, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a prominent notice on the platform. Continued use of ENKORE after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
